GreeningUp Africa
Who We Are
For over a decade, GreeningUp Africa has been raising climate action champions and changemakers across the African continent. An organization that started on a very tragic note has now reached more than 100,000 marginalised youths, women, and girls, as well as persons with disabilities across the cities of Africa. Our journey began with a deeply personal experience that propelled us into action. Our founder witnessed the very devastating impact of flooding (a serious effect of climate change) twelve years ago when several of his neighbours tragically lost their lives. This heartbreaking event ignited a determination within him to prevent such tragedies from recurring by creating positive changes in communities across Nigeria. Fueled by this sense of purpose, GreeningUp Africa was founded with a mission to empower underserved communities and individuals to mitigate the risks posed by climate change.
GreeningUp Africa works to enhance communities' resilience to climate change. We empower young individuals by providing them with the necessary tools to lead in their communities. Our projects focus on equipping youths to take charge of initiatives that promote climate action. Through strategic partnerships, innovative projects, and grassroots initiatives, GreeningUp Africa has made significant strides in promoting environmental conservation, disaster risk reduction, and community empowerment. Our team, led by young African changemakers, believes in fostering local solutions that create global impacts.
